Shuttle / Mandrake help needed!

I just got a Shuttle SN41G2 and am trying to load Mandrake 10.0 on it.
Either the Shuttle hangs during the install process or if I successfully
install, it will hang sometime after. The Shuttle has 512mb (Corsair), a
160GB Seagate, a Memorex 52/24/52, an AMD 2500+, and a USB keyboard/mouse.

I did load Win XP and a spattering of apps and used it without problems
for 2 days (before trying mandrake again).

I looked in deja.com in this newsgroup and as a result, tried:
1. Switched filesystems from journaled to native Linux
2. Switched keyboards
3. Tried a new set of install disks (from Linuxcentral, got that 4th
disk anyway).

On one occasion I successfully loaded Mandrake and it ran for a few
hours before hanging. When I booted with the CD, it reported that the
boot sector was missing.

Has anyone experienced this and /or have any advice?

Thanks
Lou

I'd try another distro sometimes the distro tweaks don't play well with
your hardware. And a Sempro 2500 it might not play well with Mandrake.

Try installing it with APIC (NOT ACPI) support DISABLED.

Try installing with the 'noapci' parameter. It sounds as if this is the
problem.
