Just remember the golden rule...do a back up..reduces the number of (ahem)

Yes, good advice. There's a new version of PI for download to v5.2 dated
13th August and I backed up before applying the upgrade. At least that way
you get a full backup every month or two.

No, just go ahead and install over the old version.

Have done this several times now with each upgrade, not a single problem.
