Hello everybody, do you still remember me?

I was a regular on this newsgroup a long time (as in years) ago. And
now I'm here again :)

I want to pick up Transport Tycoon Deluxe again. I see that a lot of
new tools are around to improve the game. I'll have to give the FAQ a
read unless someone wants to tell me what changed while I wasn't here
;)

I can still still see familiar names here :)

I now run Gentoo Linux and Windows XP, so that probably means I'll
have to use the Windows version of TTD. Does this mean anything in
terms of tools and patches available to improve the game?

I have been playing some Traffic Giant too, which is kinda
interesting. But I don't think I'm gonna get Transport Giant (by the
same company). I played the demo and the interface confuses me. But
I've seen some stuff about Locomotion, it looks interesting but I'd
like to play a demo first. Once a demo is released someone here will
probably notice and post about it ;)

So much has changed, you'ld better do some serious reading up...

For many tools/additions there are different versions for DOS and Windows,
so take good care that you download the right ones.

I liked Traffic Giant too. I tried the Transport Giant demo, which I liked
(mostly) but it hasn't got trains in it, and I hear from others that the
trains are the Achilles heel of the game.
Locomotion, I won't buy. The screen shots are plain ugly, and who needs the
game anyway with The Patch going round? TTD II has been here for some time
now, only not written by Chris Sawyer, but by Josef Drexler and his team.
