Hello,

I'm having trouble getting a Lexmark z52 printer to print over a
network. The printer is physically connected to my new server (school
computer lab) using a parallel cable. There are 2 lexmark z52 printers
connected and a hp deskjet 670c. I have 3 parallel ports in the
server. The server is running Windows server 2003 and the clients are
using windows 98.
The printers work fine when printing a test page from the server
itself and the hp deskjet prints fine from both the server and the
clients so I presume it is a problem with the lexmark driver
configuration. (this is my first big printer problem)

I have set up the printer port on the client as just the network
address "\\belgroveserver\lexmarkz" and I ahve captured the port to
ltp5 and tried that but the same error is given.

When I try to print from the client, the message "Cannot communicate
with printer. Please check printer or User's guide".

I don't see why it doesn't just work!!!

I had this problem before printing windows 98 to windows 98 and
somebody else found the solution but I dont have any contact details
for him. I still have the previous setup preserved but i cannot see
any difference in any settings that might help make this work.

Any help is appreciated. I know there is a solution to this!!!

Thanks

Will.
