Looking to build another system. Last time I succumbed to AMD's XP
since (supposedly) it was for use with Win XP. Everything works well.
Now there's the Sempron...what is it?
According to AMD's site it's GREAT! But then that's what they say about the
XP and the 64.
So the Sempron doesn't go to the speeds that the XP or 64 do but then
there's the price?
Wanting to build a machine for general home use and a game or two.
Any opinions ( except those recommending Intel) will be greatly appreciated.

It is a lack-luster budget chip that is out done by the Celeron,
enough said?

From what I understand, the Sempron is the AMD replacement for the Duron and
is meant to compete with the Celeron. It's not as fast as the XP. Note the
cache is not as much.

What I find interesting is how the price of the XP processors have increased
since the introduction of the sempron.
