RE: 12/30/04 reply....Have replaced the CMOS battery with a new one.
Chirping/buzzing sound still occurs and PC will not boot beyond the first
screen. PC was operational when it last failed.

Attempt to boot from a EBD, aka, boot disk, to test the machine.
Try another keyboard and/or mouse.
Confirm that the memory and at least one HD are detected at POST.

If you replaced the battery, go to the BIOS and make sure all settings are
as they were. especially the autodetect of IDE (hard disk, cd rom etc)
devices, the boot device order (i.e. floppy, hdd, cd, etc)
