Will the Macbook Pro with Retina Display be worth it?

I'm an acrchitecture student and its my first year, so the AUTOCADS and other programs didn't begin.
Would anybody be able to give their view whether the MacBook Pro with the Retina Display and 16GB of RAM will be able to take the work-load?

  1. I suggest you research the websites of the software you need to run for computer requirements.
  2. You might be asking the wrong forum here, try this one instead: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/forum-69-353.html
  3. I think you may be opening a can of worms by asking this question on Tom's Hardware.

I think that AUTOCAD will run just as well on a Windows system as it does on Mac OS X. The 2880px screen is very nice indeed, but it comes at a steep price - $2600ish - and you can nearly match the resolution if you built yourself a $1300 machine, and spent the rest on a 2560x1600 display from HP.
