Hi,

I have a HP iPAQ h1910. Is it possible to use this device as a simple
USB storage device? So that on shared or public computers where it is
not possible to install ActiveSync, can I plug it into the USB port
and somehow access the files directly?

Thanks in advance for any information. Please CC any responses to my
e-mail address.

As far as I know this is not possible since there is no driver
for using an iPAQ as a simple USB Mass storage device and the
device wasn't built to be a USB Mass Storage device.
Even if there was such a driver, you'd still need to be able to
install the driver, and if you can't install ActiveSync then the
driver will pose you with the same problem.. a brick wall.
It's cheaper to just get one of those small USB Pen drives
(size of your choice) and use that for removable storage..
Some brands that carry USB Pen drives in their productions are:
Lexar, SanDisk, Kingston, Iomega, Sony, Cyclone, Bonzai, Edge,
Fuji, LinkSys, Belkin.. etc.
These USB Pen drives are plug&play on Windows 2000/ME/XP systems.

in addition to usb drives, there are several small devices that function
as as usb drives but use memory cards as the storage... Lexar has one...
so, use a memory card that will fit into both the ipaq and the usb reader.

Also, if the computer in question has an ir port (most laptops do,) you
can transfer files via ir plus there are wifi and bluetooth transfer
options as well.
