Using Corel Wordperfect Office 10 with a HP LJ4. The settings in the
app have legal size set to manual source, and the printer menus are set
to their defaults.

When I try to print legal size it says "feed legal", but pressing online
does nothing whether I do it before or after pushing the paper in the
feeder. What's the right setup and sequence to do this?

With a LJ3 I use a legal tray and the printer takes care of it all. The sheets
can be fed auto or manual.

Should be a switch which senses the paper in the manual feed. Either you're
not inserting the paper deep enough to trip it or it is malfunctioning.
