Shane,
I followed your directions of Feb. 17, 2005 to get rid of Avenue A. It is
still popping up on nearly all the sites. It is very annoying. What do I
do now?
Thanks, Eileen

Eileen, I gave you instructions to allow it, not get rid of it. If you did
put the check back in *Avenue A, Inc* (after having r-clicked and selected
*deselect all*), you've allowed it. To block it, follow the instructions
again but only as far as unchecking all. Checked entries are excluded from
blocking by Spybot.
btw I say to *deselect all*, as it's quicker than unchecking a single entry
(though first time you do need to anyway).
If this doesn't address the issue, post back.
Incidently, I strongly advise the use of Spywareblaster:
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html. Free as long as you
don't opt for automatic updating. Decline during first use and then delete
the automatic updating shortcut from the Spywareblaster Start Menu group (to
avoid accidently clicking in future, which is an annoyance). Manually
download the latest updates, then select Enable All, and close.
I also use IE-Spyad, which puts a list of advertising and other rogue sites
into Internet Explorer's Restricted Zone (you need to check for updates to
the list from time to time. It's updated about twice a month):

Shane,
I did it again. Let's hope that I did it right this time.
Thanks, Eileen
