hp officeJet pro 1150c Hardware help PLEASE

hello,
hp 1150C officeJet pro (~ 8 y/old)
had to clear a major paper jam and removed the paper carriage and cannot
figure out how to replace it...
there's a lever that moves a hookLike plastic object over (on the bottom
of the carriage) but cannot figure if the tray should be at the level of
the surface (table) or whether it should be above
every time i try it (it doesn't fit either way although it should) it
reads blocked cartridges -- fix them etc.)
the cartridges are apparently blocked also w/out the tray.
could someone PLEASE advise i.e. is there a service manual?
