The Athlon 64/Opteron does not currently support DDR2. You won't see any
DDR2 boards for these cpu's anytime soon since the memory controller is on
the cpu die so standard DDR is all that it supports. I don't see AMD
changing the cpu core just to add support for DDR2 (which would effectively
remove support for standard DDR). Maybe in their next major cpu release. I
think with hypertransport standard DDR will be fine for quite a while.
