if i upgrade the bios to the latest version for this motherboard does this
make it version 2?

No, there is a hardware version, as well as a BIOS version. Some boards are
like that. This 8rda+ is one of them. -Dave

No, the version refers to the mainboard version. The BIOS is a totally
different animal. -Dave
