How do I open the BIOS on the Preserio Laptop?
DEL or F1 doesn't seem to work

During the boot sequence, you should see a notice on the screen for the
proper key to hit or hold to access 'Settings' or 'Setup'. The only thing
I could find indicates F10 as the key to accessing the BIOS. If this does
not work, try going to the Compaq site and looking at the FAQs for your
particular model.

Have you considered researching the information for your laptop on the
HP web site? I checked one Presario model, and it indicated pressing
F10 to enter the BIOS.

BIOS Startup keys

Try F1 (some are the key pressed TWICE in rapid succession.)

Look here for a 'complete' list (it's not really but that's a given as
there's surely one which isn't listed.)

http://www.iomega.com/support/documents/2157.html

They've a rather comprehensive list, keep trying all of those until you get
the right one. Also, if you must, then you may need to pull the jumper
located on the mother board so that you can dump it's contents and set it
back to default. That would be in the manual MAYBE (if you got it) but most
don't get it so you would have to get your MoBo's #'s and look it up online.
Google's your friend and will help you find the correct jumper to pull,
place on in a different configuration, and finally replace where it was when
you found it.

One program keeps giving me MMSYS264 Out of Memory Close applications
This is the only program installed after a fresh format and install, it was
doing this before with the same program.
Only a few items in the system tray. A similar program Windows Media Player
works fine.
I start to suspect bad RAM

You can prove or rule out physical memory problems with the following app:
http://www.simmtester.com/
It is a free app that will run a test on your memory.
Also, I believe you have been referred to www.sysinternals.com to download a
process viewer called Process Explorer. Have you used this to determine
what is running, to include background apps? The following sites will help
you determine what is needed at startup and what is 'fluff.'
http://castlecops.com/StartupList.html
http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.php
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php
http://www.3feetunder.com/krick/startup/list.html
http://ww2.whidbey.net/djdenham/Uncheck.htm
http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tas [...] sklist.htm
http://www.greatis.com/regrun3appdatabase.htm

PacPortal, Whidbey and Answers That Work are a few of my favorites for this
purpose. Post back with your findings and the answers to Noel's questions.
Heirloom, old and hang in there.....we'll get it

Well, physical memory, both mine and the computer's, can be ruled out.!
I replaced the physical memory, in the computer.....still same problem.
I look in the programs list and can't find the program though there is an
Icon on the desktop.
So, I look in in the registry....no Song Librain program anywhere in
sight.....
Geez, what have I been drinking, I mean thinking.

this may be way to simplistic, but, it is possible that you should be
looking for "Song Librarian" instead of "Librain?"

I've got one of those shirts!!!!.......just can't remember where I put it.
You have a 'sharp eye', Mr. Mart......there are, indeed, a few not so
obvious stabs at humor. I like the deep ones that sneak up on you like a
