In order to use an RSS reader, I was required to install .NET Framework.
Downloaded .NET Framework 1.1. Installation failed with the following error
message:
'Error 1935. An error occurred in the installation of assembly component
{4A366828-FB66-4BB6-A834-45D946E56D7F}. HRESULT: -2147024893.
Installation then rolls back with a dialog box to contact 'Product Support
Services'.
Any ideas as to how to get this installed?
Thanks in advance for help.
Lorne

Not really, but these *may* point you in the right direction :-

"BUG: Error 1935 During Install of the .NET Framework"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308096

"PRB: Error -2147024893 "Unable to Connect to Active Server Object" When You
Try to Start the IIS Admin Service"
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;262844

Good luck

Mart

Thanks for these KB articles. Unfortunately, they apply to NT or server
software, not WIN ME.
However, the "BUG: Error 1935..." article mentioned a problem with
Mscoree.dll. After running a search, I have 3 copies of this file:
(1) mscoree.dll in folder C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM
(2) mscoree.dll in folder C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\URTTemp
(3) mscoree.dll.local in folder C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\URTTemp
Could this be the problem? Any ideas as to how to handle this?
Thanks
Lorne

Mmm.. but don't forget that .NET Framewok is not part of WinMe.

A further search on the MS KB for ".NET Framework" reveals some 100
articles. Perhaps there's something there that might help you.

Sorry, but that's my limit I'm afraid <g>

Try searching for mscoree.dll and rename it mscoree.old.

After that retry the install.
