I have an epox motherboard, 8RDA3G model, which has 2 on board lan
ports. Recently i made a cross UTP cable and connected it to another
computer, for file transfer use. Apparently it worked. But just last
2 weeks, i had installed a DSL connection, and now I couldnt both lan
ports to work at the same time. So i tried putting a pci lan card so
that i can share dsl for both computers. This even made things worse.
Now that there's a lan card, one of my onboard ports won't light up
when i put either cable to it. I tried removing the PCI lan card, but
still to no avail. Right now, I use my PCI lan card for internet, and
the onboard lan ports serve no use.

What does couldn't get them to 'work' mean?

Need a lot more detail, like what O.S? Windows? Which one?

What are you trying to do with two ports? Route? Bridge?

Why two ports anyway? Why not both computers straight to the DSL router?
