Hi
I have just purchased a Geil value dual channel PC3200 1GB, and can't
get my system up and running. I am currently using an Abit NF7
(version 2 with the latest bios) with an AMD Athlon XP 2500 barton
processor.
Both of the memory modules work individually but when both modules are
inserted at the same time either the Bios claims the CPU has changed
or failed or the PC fails to reach the bios screen. The modules do
work in combination with 1 older generic 256mb pc3200 module but not 2
x 256mb at the same time.
I have checked the Geil compatibility chart and it says my motherboard
is supported and i have also tried every possible combination of
positions the modules can go in. I am unable to contact the company
(Overclockers UK, their customer support is useless!) i bought them
from so i thought i would go directly to you guys for help.
Please help! I would appreciate any advise you can give

What BIOS settings are you using? ABIT have approved this manufacturer,
so it should work. It is value RAM so you should run with SPD setting. Geil
giv a lifetime warranty, so you could try contacting them.
Mike.
