Hi. I recently turned on my computer and found that the windows Me
recycle bin shortcut icon was gone from the desktop. I did a search of
files and folders for recycle bin and found nothing. I looked in the
windows directory and could not find a folder marked recycle bin.
I clicked on properties for the desktop and went to effects, highlited
recycle bin full, then clicked on default still no shortcut on the
desktop. I tried the same for the recycle bin empty...nothing.
How do I find the short cut icon ? If it has been deleted how do I re
install it?
Is this a common glitch with Me? I didn't think windows would allow the
shortcut for Recycle bin to be deleted. But mine sure is gone.

Thanks, Dave Ohler

Dave:

Go back to 4/21 in this group and look for "No Recycle Bin ?"
You may find your answer there.

Odd...

take a look in the C: root directory (C:\)

C:\> DIR /A

in a DOS Window, see if anything turns up.

WindowsME will normally recreate the Recycle Bin while booting if it's
been deleted during the previous session.
