Trouble with ME and/or IE in that I have gotten to have too many
lockups(have to shutdown using the power switch on the tower) even after
using the spyware programs and my antivirus programs to clean up any bad
guys which there were none. Could I have a corrupt file in my windows files?
Does anyone know how to reinstall ME without deleteing my total hard-drive
for a complete install and will that possibly help!?

4 maintenance routines to try...
1) run scandisk (may as well do defrag while you're at it)
2) run SCANREG /FIX from a DOS window
3) if you're using IE6 go to ControlPanel/AddRemoveSoftware/AddRemove,
select IE6 and hit the "Fix" button.
4) make sure all your drivers are updated.
If you still get lockups, take a look at TaskManager to see what
normally is running.
