either the NIC in the machine, the Hub or the Cable is going bad.
When the 'led' goes out on a router or a switch, this generally means
there is no connection at all. I would check the cable first. try
another port.

hi again ok i tried wiring up my xbox to this hub and it seem to be
getting the internet connection ok, so at the min the hub is getting
the connection into it and will send it out to the xbox but when i
connect a ethernet cable from hub to 2nd pc the lights go out and no
connection is found now the ethernet card in the 2nd pc is only new
and if i run a ethernet cable direct into it, it works fine but when
i trying running through hub it doesnt work

does any1 know what the problem could be is there any settings i have
to change on the pc windows 98

cheers
