REBOOTING WHILE GAMING

Just like others i experience rebooting of the system while gaming.
The tim edepends on the game ( RTC3 can last up till a few hours, but
World of Warcraft reboots almost instantly).
I had this problem before and i then solved it (at least as far as i
can recall).

These are my specs:

AMD ATHLON XP 2400+ 266 FSB
ATI Radeon 9600 128 MB
Creative SB Live
Windows XP SP2
Gigabyte 7VKMP Via KM266 Motherboard
1024 MB DDR Ram

I've allready tried a lot like reducing hardware acceleration of sound
and grapics but nothing helps. Also tried every driver that was
supplied with my comp. but it doesn't help. Also run a memory test to
see if my Ram was compatible, and didn't show any problems.

Please help if you know another solution!!!

replace your PSU.............or should I say test it then replace it

Is your RAM is dual-channel mode? As in a 512 MB DIMM in each channel?
If so, it should say it on your screen when the BIOS does the RAM test.

The reason I mention it is, see if you put att 1 GB into the same
channel (if possible, for example you have 3 or 4 DIMM slots). See if
anything changes. My Athlon XP system crashes during heavy gaming when
the RAM is in dual-channel.

My specs:
Athlon XP 3000+ 400 MHz FSB
Abit NF7-S mobo
2x512 MB Geil ultra PC3200 RAM

Sounds like you may have an underpowered/unstable (or just plain cheap)
power supply unit. Try installing a Quality brand PSU of ADEQUATE power
capacity for your system's components.

What PSU? Make and rating. Try running memory diagnostic. If you have
more than one memory module, try removing one at a time and test.

I'm using a GeCube 9600XT 128mb card on a Gigabyte GA-7VA board, and it
freezes/reboots on Warcraft III TFT unless I set the AGP to 4x. When you
say you've reduced the hardware acceleration of the graphics, do you
mean you have tried turning the AGP down to 4x? Why are you using the
drivers supplied with your computer instead of the latest drivers???
What is your CPU temp, and are the CPU and GPU fans working okay?
