Is there a command that will force the monitor to power down
the way Windows ME does in the Screen Saver/Settings/Turn
off monitor box? Yes, I can just turn it off, but I'm told
that doing it this way will have a negative affect on its
life. So I'd like to either enter a command or set up a key
stroke combination that will run the command. Also, will
this work with the WinMedia player running?

Thanks,
Dave

Any negative effects of turning your monitor off at the switch are likely to
be minimal - especially if it's a TFT monitor.

Use the built-in tools - they really are more likely to work better than
anything you or we dream up!!

Check out Steve Gibson's free WIZMO utility at http://grc.com/wizmo/wizmo.htm
Look for the "monoff" function.
