Hello
My Son's pc ......
Found spysheriff and a couple of trojans.
Removed ..... ran Ad-Aware, Spybot, and SpywareBlaster
Now he is unable to change his wallpaper, the option is grayed out.
I have looked in the registry and cannot find anything to change this.
Any ideas? TIA
Sandy

This tip is for a XP machine, but review your values:

"Check the following key in your windows registry..

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveD
esktop

If you have a DWORD named NoChangingWallPaper and the value is set to 1,
change it to 0 (zero) "

------

Try disabling and reenabling "Active Desktop".

Search the Registry for 'wallpaper'. I am guessing that you will find
it under Policies ...and it will point to an .html document on your
drive.

If you delete both ...AND empty the recycle bin, Display Properties
will be reactivated...at least it was for me.

Good luck
