I am trying to get windows XP installed on a single SATA drive with my
Intel 925XE motherboard.
I don't want to install RAID (only one drive) nor the Intel application
accelerator.
How can I do this?
All the instructions call for F6 to load the RAID drivers and I cannot
find a SATA driver on the Intel website.

There are 4 different pages on the Intel web site that state "RAID: F6
Driver Disk (Optional)" depending on your edition of the 925XE chipset:

Start here:

http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/gendrive.htm

If you don't want a RAID configuration don't establish one. I have 2
computers running with SATA drives and neither is configured for RAID.
The drives are just separate drives. You still need the RAID driver for
the OS to recognize the SATA controller.

Not necessarily RAID driver. I don't know how it is for Intel, but for
ASUS there are separate SATA drivers and RAID drivers, and installing
RAID driver won't let you use independent SATAs. So I suggest you
figure it out and only install RAID driver after you get an official
statement, i.e. from Intel representative, that there is no SATA driver
for that and it is all handled by RAID driver.

Load the disk that came with. When asked later, don't configure it for
RAID.
