Hi there,

I'd appreciate any help with regard to a PC I'm about to build for my
brother, and whether or not it would be worthwhile attempting to
overclock. I built a PC for myself using a Gigabyte GA7N400Pro2 and an
Athlon XP2800+(Barton) and overclocked to the equivalent of a 3200+.
This has been running now for well over a year with no problems
whatsoever.

I'm now about to build an Athlon 64 based PC for my brother and am
less sure about whether & how to overclock. The components are:

Gigabyte GA-K8NS Pro (socket 754 & nForce3) Motherboard
Athlon 64 (Newcastle, S754) 3000+
HIS Excalibur AIW Radeon 9800 Pro
512 Mb Crucial DDR 400 PC3200 RAM (will add another 512Mb soon)
160 Gb SATA HD (Maxtor I'm afraid- but I've had no problems with them)

Is there much scope for overclocking here (I'm not really into
overclocking the Graphics card), and if so then how would you sugegst
going about this and how far should I try to go?

Any help appreciated.

I'd suggest registering at http://www.ocforums.com ; very
knowlegable bunch. I've heard both sides of the fence on NC
overclocks (works/doesn't work).
