Is there anybody out there who can kindly desypher the below informatrion
please? It was produced by a program called PC Wizzard, which is supposed
to tel you all about what is in your PC.

I want to increase my memory to 1Gig but have no idea what to order. All I
know is I had 512MB of RAM (or should have!) installed when I bought the
machine a year ago. I also have a video card with 256MB of memory, but from
the list below I can't seem to see which is which.

Thanks for any advice guys.

That is your system RAM and it's two Samsung 256 Meg sticks, part number
68L3223ETN-CB3, for a total of 512 Meg.

Your video RAM is on the video card and is not in the list below.

It says you have 4 slots and, with two sticks, 2 are used so you have two
open and you can put up to 1 gig in a slot. It also indicates you are dual
channel (Intel board I imagine) so you need to buy them in identical pairs,
which means you want two more 256 meg sticks.

Thanks David, but what type do |I need...DDR? PC2600? CL-2? 168Pin or 186?
bus speed? Parity or non? etc, there are so many variations!

You should be looking for non-ecc (non-parity) PC3200 or DDR400 (same
thing), and each RAM board should be 256MB, and it wouldn't hurt to buy a
good name brand like mushkin or corsair or kingston. You should buy (2)
256MB boards for a total of 512MB. CL should be as low as you can afford,
but even CL-3 will work. One example follows. -Dave

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-146-897&depa=0

(2 of those should work)

Note that you currently have PC2700, but PC3200 will cost no more, and you
might be able to use the PC3200 in a later build, possibly. Note also that
you don't need to buy RAM in "matched pairs", but you *should* try to buy
two similar sticks to take advantage of dual channel capability. -Dave

David,

Not sure what you mean, I haven't used anyone for specific listings, I used
the prog PC Wizard as mentioned in my first post.

Anyway thanks for the reply and if it confirms anything the manufactureers
code
is CT3264Z335

Thanks again!

I meant that Dabs has a memory selector for finding the right one by
machine type. But I couldn't use it because you hadn't posted what your
machine was. Or if you did I missed it.

Yeah. That's the one I looked up by matching to the price you posted.

You're quite welcome.

Hi David

No I didn't use the Dabs selector, didn't even notice one.

Memory just arrived in post (now that was quick!) It's fitted and working
fine so far!

Cheers again

Super duper !
