When I go into Windows Explorer, my "windows" folder is missing. However, my
Virus Scan (McAfee) will search the folder for viruses. My computer has been
running slow and crashing often. I believe this is due to an extrodinary
number of temp files that I can't delete.

Start by unhiding the folder in Windows Explorer. Control Panel | Folder
Options | View and check the radio button "Show hidden files and folders"
AND ALSO uncheck the box "Hide protected operating system files" then
click Apply & OK.
