whats the difference between athlon 939pin and 90nm 939pin

whats the difference between athlon 939pin and 90nm 939pin? looking at
price watch, all the models have these two different listings. is one
prefered over another? do they require a different type of socket?

90nm is the latest generation of CPU and may differ in cache size to the
130nm processors, among other things.
