Which is the best external HD enclosure?

I am new to external USB/Firewire hard drive enclosures, even though I
currently own four of them. Two are by a no name company and two are by
Ultra. The Ultras have cooling fans, but a poor case fit (warpage of the
plastic).

My two no fan enclosures run very, very hot, just sitting there with no
activity. I keep a small fan blowing on them to cool them down. I can see
where heat can be problematic.

I was wondering if some of you would like to comment on this subject and
offer suggested models/brands and any pointers on case selection. I'm sure
many would benefit from your efforts. TIA

These run cool standing up with 7200rpm drives in them. I have three.
I have two WD external that run cool also but no wonder they are 50%
bigger.
