My VPN connection worked great until I decided a few weeks ago to setup a
POP3 email account. I needed to make a VPN connection at work yesterday and
could not connect ... and don't receive an error message when I try to
connect. I have deleted the VPN connection, setup a new VPN connection ... I
have even performed a hard reset on my PC and tried a VPN connection w/o
installing any applications and it still doesn't work.

I am able to connect to my wireless lan at home without a problem ... but
can't connect at work. One of my departmental coworkers has the same PPC and
his works fine.

I clicked the activesync icon on my PPC since I've been home and the vpn
connection now shows up. Does this make sense ?

You shouldn't be able to connect to your internal VPN from your
internal connection, *especially* if your Pocket PC is set to WORK.

I understand that I should not be able to make the connection from home.
The problem was I could never make the VPN connection when I was at work
although I had a wireless connection.

I'm sorry I got it working again because I forgot how that seems to run the
battery down always trying to make a vpn connection. I turned off the mail
to check every 15 minutes but something still causes the message unable to
make connection message to display every 15 minutes or so.

You should have this working at home. You don't need (or *shouldn't*
need) a VPN connection while you are at the office. VPNs are for
getting on your LAN from remote locations - it creates a "virtual
private network." YOu don't need to be virtual when at work, you are
really there.

As for the auto-connection - look in Activesync's options. Is that set
to autosync too?
