I have a Canon S630 and I'm using Canon inks. I previously had generic
inks, including some photo inks, installed.
When I print pages that are heavy in color, the first inch or so of the
printed page (the first part to pass through the printer) appears as though the
colors are not "mixed" correctly. For example, if I'm printing a solid red
page, the first inch will contain what looks like too much black, along with
the red. Then it kind of fades in, and the colors are fine for the rest of the
page.
I've aligned the print heads and done the deep cleaning option. Anything
else that can help with this problem? Thanks.

Any ideas at all? Thanks.

My Canon S630 worked perfectly until a couple of months ago when it started
printing colors too green. Using some suggestions, I tried deep cleaning,
and also swabbing the print head with alcohol. These procedures would
correct the problem for a day or two, but the problem kept coming back. I
assume the print head had gone bad. It is replaceable but I ended up
trashing the S630 and bought a new Canon IP4000 which is great!

You could contact Canon and ask about a new print head. I heard they may
also offer you a discount on a new printer.

Could you possibly have got a wrong black cartridge in, so that the printer
is trying to mix pigment and dye based inks (that don't mix). ?
Just a thought.
