I own an IPAQ 5450.

Is there a wireless ISP that will allow me to access the Internet, receive
email from most of the Chicago area?

What are the costs?

With the documentation that came with the HP iPAQ it said there was
service from T-Mobile go to there web site http://www.tmobile.com and
look up for service prices and coverage. I know years ago PALM had
palm.net and another hand held computer had another service but I am
sure they are out there. also go to http://www.google.com and do a
search for them. The T-Mobile Hot Spot service is here:

I hope that helped?

Thanks for the info.

From what I see, is this service available only in stores, i.e. Starbucks,
Panera Bread, etc.

How about if you are not near any shopping centers, retail, etc?

In that I have no idea. However T-Mobile like Verizon, and AT&T are
wireless companies so you should be able to get service any where they
can provide it. (Get a signal) Nationwide, as well as locally with
your username and password.

tough subject...

t-mobile's wifi only rates multiply out to fairly large amounts and the
coverage is very specific... normally, you have to be within 100' or so
of a t-mobile access point.

Consider looking at a data connection service through your mobile phone
or even if you don't have one, look at the price in getting an account
against the t-mobile rates.

Most wireless phone providers offer wireless internet. You can
connect your PPC to a phone via a cable, IR, or bluetooth depending on
the phone and PPC.

The cheapest is T-Mobile- they offer unlimited internet for $30/month
or $20 with a voice plan. Speed is okay- 25-40kbps- a little less
than standard dialup.

T-Mobile also has a cheaper plan (that I use) called "T-Zones". It's
only $5/month on top of a voice plan, and allows access to POP and
IMAP e-mail, and non-secure websites. (Port 80 access only, not 443.)
