What are you interested in? If you don't say you may not get recommendations
in those areas, and you'll waste peoples time in areas you aren't interested
in.

There have also been a number of times in the past that recommendations
have been given, why not try looking through the newsgroup archives?

Search for "must have" in Google Groups, limiting your search to
microsoft.public.pocketpc in the Advanded Groups Search.

I just tried it and came up with a bunch of threads on this very topic.

I never knew i wanted calligrapher till i tried it. I had thought the
graffiti or thumbboard was as good as it gets. So no, I'd rather not
specify beyond what I did in the OP.

Perhaps a more up-to-date one.

Hello Mike,

I don't know what you've already installed,
but I think these apps are worth the money:

- Pocket Artist for graphics on the go
- Pocket Minds Pocket Music Bundle for
mp3s, wma, ogg, etc.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader for PPC
- WebIS Pocket Informat replaces the
original ToDo list, calendar, contacts, etc.
- Nyditot Virtual Display for rotating the
display (only recommended for some apps)
- Spb Pocket Plus 2 adds 'desktop icons',
battery monitor and other features

Maybe you'll like these apps.
Markus

Well failing to provide any info on what you need, here are a couple of
things that show what it comes with, is not as good as it gets.

PocketBreeze to make the info on your Today screen actually useful
PocketPlus to give you program management conveniently, extend your PIE
functions and add value to the Today screen
Resco Explorer to give you a file explorer that works more like the one you
are familiar with on the desktop, and make network access more friendly
Repligo to give you the ability to take anything you could print with you
and refer to it.
HttpMail so you can access HTTP mail boxes (Hotmail, MSN mail) with the
Inbox function off-line rather than having to be on the net.

After that we need to know if you hate the built in Word Processor, Picture
Viewer, Music Player, all of which have options available for improvement.
Do you need databases, mapping, network management tools/utilities? For
grins, go to www.handango.com, select Windows Mobile and search for
something. It's amazing what you can find if you look.

Depends on what you want, but for me, "Must Haves" are on my web page
at http://www.ehansberry.com/pages/pocketpc.html

I can't live without apps like Pocket Informant, Fitaly, PocketBible
eWallet and eReader.

So, why not look through the various software sites and you can find lots of
software that improve on the standard ones. Different spreadsheets, word
processors, File explorers, diaries/calendars, battery monitors, etc etc.
Plenty of sites - these haven't changed addresses since previous posts in
the newsgroup so that info is there in the archives for you.

Happy hunting.
