Yes W2k3 is backwards compatible with NT4.0 SP6
unless it's an existing domain controller. An NT 4.0
DC cannot move in and out of domains without the
use of a third party application. You can add an
NT 4.0 BDC to a W2k3 domain running in mixed
mode.
