I am putting together a new computer that will have a ASUS motherboard
and a AMD Athlon 64 X2 chip. As well, I'll be using a NVidea 7800
graphics card. I want to make sure the case has plenty cooling and as
well room for expansion and adding multiple drives for future HD-DVD,
Blu-Ray, whatever. I have looked at Antec cases but not any others.
Any idea of which cases I should look at? Thanks for any help.

Get one that has an intake fan in front of the hard disk drives. I
mean seriously, why not.

I added a vantec stealth 20mm in front of my drives in my antec SLK3000B
case. I undervolted it to reduce front fan noise. 5 HDDs, luke warm,
MUCH better than very hot like they were in the cramped case I had
before without the removeable HDD tower like in this Antec case. I'm
very happy with it, and it's a bottom of the range (in terms of price)
of the Antec cases! Nice Antec PSU too, but I had that already.

I'm looking at the Antec P160, ThermalTake Tsunami, SilverStone TJ06 B
whatever (the black aluminum one). All are pricey cases. But then again,
all of them look relatively professional.

No case has hit the balance of cost, aesthetics, cooling, space, and
toolless design. I hate the Antec P160's drive door covers. The
SilverStone doesn't really need an LED temp display (it's a novelty ...
probably wears thin after a week). From what I understand, Lian Li doesn't
incorporate any toolless designs, although their cases are okay looking.

The Chenbro Game Bomb II looks like a great case. I can't find it anywhere.
Maybe Apple sued them.

The RaidMax Scorpio looks like a semi-conservative case with a lot of room.
It's relatively low $ too.

I've owned Antec and found they build very solid reliable cases. But those
P160 front door covers really bug me. And the rotating power supply button
is wrong.

If I were buying today (which I will actually) it would be the Tsunami.

Here's hoping this helps...

the thermaltake soprano comes with a 400w PSU (double check with your
supplier) and loads of connectors, 3 built case in fans, external ports for
2 USB's, firewire, mic and headphones.

In fact they give exact settings for ASUS board connectors! This info was
only available via the web site, in PDF, and didn't come with the case
though.

I'm very happy with mine. It doesn't huff and puff too much with all the
air, keeps my Intel CPU at around 43 - 53 celcius, so the fans don't have to
work too hard. Considering it has a grand total of .........7 fans inside
it's pretty good noise wise.

There's room for 4 x 5 1/4 external bays, 6 x 5 1/4 internals & 2 x 3.5's.
Surprisingly there's an over supply of power connectors! it also comes with
a seperate 12v power clip for your motherboard if it takes it. Do check on
the rest of the specs and it's appearance via the manufacturers web site.

The clear side is a nice touch too and I think I'll grab some neons after
all :). Hope you're as happy with yours, whichever you choose, as I'm with
mine.
