Networking XP Pro and Home on NT Server

I'm gradually upgrading an NT Server 4 network which worked fine. The
difficulty I'm experiencing is that, while XP Pro PCs can network server
drives and XP Home PCs can have access to server drives, they cannot gain
access to each other. I have set up shared drives on each but they don't
show on the network (the PCs do).

Also, I have installed a broadband router on a new XP Pro and I would like
to use that as a proxy but I can't get that to work either.

Help appreciated.

Perhaps I haven't been specific enough, and I really would appreciate some
guidance. The error message I'm getting from both PCs, when trying to
access shared drives on the other, is "PC is not accessible. You do not
have permission ..."

I have done a lot of searching and have tried all kinds of suggestions and
have set all kinds of permissions but this error is very consistent.

In the meantime, I have discovered that I needed to setup separate user
accounts on the XP Pro PC for that PC and the domain (almost duplicate
accounts for each user) and I can now access the XP Pro PC from the Home PCs
but not vice versa. Suggestions welcome ...

The shares won't show? Can you map manually e.g., Explorer / tools / Map
Network Drive / \\machine\sharename? The XP home machines cannot join
the domain so you'll have to have local duplicate user accounts in order to
access those machines.

You' should be even more specific e.g., share on XP pro machine cannot
be accessed by XP home machine or the other way around? The XP pro
is a member of the domain?

The error message is the same?
