I have found that if I upgrade my X850 PCI-E from Catalyst 5.2 to any driver more recent (like the 5.10 for example) that my motherboard will occasionally beep whenever I use a 3D accelerated program. I have tested both DirectX and OpenGL programs and they both produce this annoying beeping sound. I have upgraded all my motherboard drivers in a vain attempt to stop this. Any help would be appreciated.

It may be qfan, or some other asus utility that monitors temps. Find it, and see what is overheating. It may be that it's just set too low, but I'm guessing you have a real problem, not a beeping problem.

Good suggestion. I checked the temp monitors (both CPU and motherboard) and both were within set parameters but just for fun I disabled the alarms for temp and fan speed monitors. The beeping still continues. Does anyone know of the X850 has a small PC speaker on it somewhere? I am wondering if perhaps the beeping is in fact originating from there....

Hard to tell with all the gear and wires in there.
