BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH ON STARTUP

I get the blue screen when starting up. The error says the
ntdvm.exe file may be corrupt because the header size does
not match the computed size. It says to restart and set
the recovery options in control panel, or CRASHDEBUG, but
every time it starts up, I get the blue screen and I can't
change anything. Any suggestions? E-mail
djkeillor@hotmail.com or post answer. Thanks.

I am also repeatedly getting this error. It seems to
occur when a program I run in NT either doesn't load
properly, returns an error, or crashes. When this
happens, my Word97 also won't start (I get a fatal
exception error).

I have "solved" the problem by restarting the computer
with the NT CD in the slot, and performing a repair of the
NT installation.

When you are prompted for each file that doesn't "match"
the original installation, IGNORE all files EXCEPT for the
NTVDM.exe file, which is the problem file).

If you're using the NT Emergency Repair disk (ERD), the
file should be about 55% into the repair.

DON'T SKIP THE FILE; FIX IT (ntvdm.exe).

remove the CD and restart the system. It should boot.

I don't know why this is happenning to my machine. It has
frustrated me to no end. I have unsuccessfully tried to
install XP, but this will also give the dreaded NTVDM blue
screen.

Good Luck!
