i have an iso for windows 7 if i write a bootable dvd can i then boot and install the same

Yes. An ISO file is a virtual image of the original disc that the ISO was made from. You can burn an ISO with most any DVD burning software (as well as others such as PowerISO), and once burned you should have no issue booting from the disc.

You still need drivers, check your system for compatability. And of course you need a valid installation code.
