Baiscly if you had 2.5K to spend on a PC... What would you pick?

That would be a bad decision............for gaming atleast...........
Get an athlon 64 X2 4800+, DFI NF4 UT SLI motherboard, and a 7800GT or GTX, and 1-2GB of memory and you'll be flying.

your better off getting an athlon 64 sandiego and OC' that bad boy you'll save a nice amount of money and probley get the same or better marks, atleast it won't be noticeable.

I agree with Clob. Do a little research and then propose a rig. Google is your friend. There are also a lot of similar posts to yours in here - search the forums, too.

We'll be a lot more helpful and you will learn a lot more. As you can see there aren't a ton of helpful responses to your post. Be specific in your posts: What will the PC be used for? What is budget? What components do you need? When will you be doing the build? Now or in 6 months?
