In terms of HDR, what advantage does the X1300 have over the X700?
I'm sure the X700 can handle X700 ok.

Also, in terms of HiDef video, will the quality/performance of the x1300 be better than the x700? I'm pretty sure the X700 can handle HD video ok.

Thanks in advance!

The X1300 supports OpenEXR version of HDR while the X700 doesn't. However by support I mea it'll show you in slideshow format what others are experiencing on their X1800 /GF 7800 in real time.

However if it's 2D HDR, both will do it fine.

As for HD video most of the stuff I've seen about the X1300 haven't been too impressive.

For any video gaming I'd suggest the X700 over the X1300.

"meant to be" doesn't make it so.

On slower cards, advanced features are sometimes little more than marketing boasts. The cards have the feature, but if you turn it on the framerate is so low it's unplayable.

The X1300 is likely not fast enough to use the OpenEXR method of HDR in real-world situations at 800x600 resolution if it's *real* lucky - realistically, you'd probably have to be running your game 640x480 for it to be playable.

So if the X700 would theoretically be better (frame rate/performance) in 1024x768 HDR than the X1300 1024x768 HDR, even thought the x1300 has hardware HDR?

Yes, I can with a fair amount of certainty say that an X700 that isn't running HDR would be faster than an X1300 running HDR at any given resolution.

In a game like Day of Defeat, which uses a method of HDR that both the X700 and X1300 can use, you'd turn the feature off with either of these cards to get decent performance.

On the video front, the X1x00 series has alot of new features built-in that are to be enabled in future driver releases.

Thanks for the info! It's great to get a relpy from someone with experience.

What if the X700 was running in HDR? Would it be faster than an X1300 running in HDR as well?
