No Printer Fonts Available - Canon IR5020 on Novell Print ..

I think I could post this in about 7 different groups, but I'll try
here. I apologize as I am not a tech, so I will just throw out what I
know and hope someone can point me in the right direction.

I have a client who has a new Canon IR5020 (or PCL5e) printer that
will not print from our application. The runtime version of our 3rd
party report software spits out a "No Printer Fonts Available" error
message. The environment is ... the Novell Printer server is on
W2003, the clients log onto Novell (vers. 6.0, sp 5.0). They run
various O/S at the workstations including XP, W2000 and W95.

When they revert to an old printer, everything works fine. I have had
the client re-install the printer driver but that has not solved it.
I have searched the 3rd party reporting software site, and all they
tell me is that the error means either no printer is installed or it
isn't currently 'active'.

Any ideas?
