Defcon growing pains - Rush of people delay opening

A massive rush of people delayed the opening of the Defcon computer security convention for about two hours. Riviera hotel security and Defcon "Goons" security said the Fire Marshal was late in approving the venue. My PC Locks up after insert of DVD, what to do?

I've a problem, my computer locks up totally when i insert a dvd in my nec, the only solution is the power-off button, I have reinstalled it with XP Pro SP2, but it didnt help, i have installed the latest bios and so on, new drivers to all my stuff. I have also tried to change my dvd to another, but the problem still exists

Case is a Coolermaster Centurion 5
PSU 350 W
Asus P4P800-E Deluxe Motherboard
P4 Prescott 3.2
NEC 3500
2 Gb DDR400 Samsung (4x512)
Maxtor 40 Gb bootdrive IDE
Seagate S-ATA 160 Gb storage.
GFX, Sapphire ATI Radeon 9800 XT
Soundblaster Audigy 2

Anyone have a clue?

More Information

Will the DVD drive crash when inserting a data CD? If not, could it be that the autoplay feature is trying to play the DVD and cannot find a proper DVD codec? Do you have any DVD player software installed? Have you tried uninstalling the drive and reinstalling via device manager? or disabling autoplay? Just guessing here. Good luck.
