I'm working with an old PC (HP Netserver E60, PIII,
500MHz) with NT 4 sp4. I want to backup the existing HD to
a 40gb using DiscWizard.

Using DiscWizard - I should be able to clone to a
partition of 7.5gb on the new hd. Then remove the old hd
and boot from the new hd and formatt the rest of the new
hd. Is this correct? What do I need to worry about
(besides some obviouse things)?

Next, obtain sp5 and sp6 as exe files and run the installs
in order. Is this correct?

I've only watched someone some time ago deal with NT 4
server and I'm hesitant to move without more information.
Thanks Rob

just re the sp5 , sp6 line. Service Packs are cumalive so you only need to
put sp6a on and will include all the fixes from sp5

Would def recommend pointing the server at Windows Update
(www.windowsupdate.com) to get the latest patches

cheers,
