I was just wondering if i should save a few dollars and buy a a64 3000+ venice core instead of paying $200 more and get something that i dont need. I really dont play many games, but i am selling my pentium 4 630 series cpu/mobo and stuff and going back to amd. What you think?

Personally i would go with the venice...the dualcore isn't going to do you a lot of good unless you do certain things...like 3d modeling and editing of video/music/picutures

Get this $115 shipped

Are you going to OC? because this DFiis a beeast OC'er...you should be able to boost that 3000+ or 3200+ to 3700+ and higher without problems.

If you're doing mad OCing and are an experienced user, then the DFI is a great choice. They can be a little tricky to setup - especially for a less experienced user. Other Great options are the Epox 9NPA+ Ultra and the Abit AN8 Ultra.

Splendid
The venice, and clawhammer use two different sockets. You may as well go for s939, since it also supports dual cores. The 3700 San Diego is the s939 version. If you go venice. get the 3200, they are cheap. Bothe venice and San Diego OC very well.
Before you go DFI, check out the DFI Street website. They are great boards, but can be very tricky to set up. I would go for the Abit board, because it is very easy to OC with, and results are similar.
