I am trying to power some hard drives with a second power supply I have lying around. There is a power switch on the back and when I switch it on the hard drive spins up and so does a fan I have attached, but then they both stop. I assume the power supply is still waiting for a signal from the motherboard it should be connected to to power up. Since I won't be connecting it, could anybody tell me how to get the power supply to stay on. Can I cross two wires from the connector for the motherboard? If so which ones? Any help, docs, urls is/are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Harold

It's actually pretty easy - short the green wire on the 20/24 pin connector to one of the black ones. That turns on the PSU.
