i am planning to buy a new machine

my budget is around 70k (YO !!)

i will get an assembled one ..

froma dealer in INDIA
17" LCD monitor(which company? in 19" available ?? wil crt b affordable)
2 gb DDR transcend ram (company? hz? DDR2 ?)
p4 3.2 HT or AMD 3200+ ? (abt the same price.. pentium X ? dualcore?)
mobo (for both the above)
2 x gforce 6600GT (1 better one or 2 in SLi ? 6800 gt? ati ?)
2 x 160 gb hdsk (SATA? or seagate barracuda ? 7200 or 10500 ?)
DVD writer(company?)

i am a hardcore gamer .. i play on LAN as well as single player games .. on top of that i well need a good-multitasking system and i also do a lot of video compressionas well ....

get a dual core x2 3800. screw the 6600gts in sli, get a 6800gs if you can find one. its cheaper than the 6800gt and performs the same.

My personal call wouldn't be dual core...the extra cost isn't worth it if you are a hardcore gamer.

i know you said you like multi-tasking....but if you say you are a HARDCORE gamer you want a single core because they are faster and cheaper...

Also dont get SLI....go with a 6800GS for $200, 7800GT for $300 or 7800GTX for $400.
