Black and White

I would recomend getting a new video card. The Banshee was a good card in it's day, but it is just out of date. But have you tried installing the lastest drivers? If so you could also try installing 3dfx's refernce drivers and give that a shot.

So besides that how's the game? I keep hearing things about it but have yet to see a screen shot or gameplay.

Yeah- that game has a whole new engine unknown to a lot of 3d cards. My GF2 Pro sometimes has a little trouble running it at 1024x768 32bit color (highest detail).. and it's overclocked.

Get a new card.

Absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!

I can run 1600x1200 high detail 32bit on my Ultra/AMD and it is awesome. Really invloving and really addictive. There is just SOOOOO much happening in this game. Keep an open mind about it, think out of the box a little and experiment a lot... It's great.

i have pretty much lost interest, and consider it a wasted $40, if i do play it anymore it will be to kill all the whinning villagers
i must say too that i am not a fan of rts games in general
if you do like rts games that require micro-management then this one would probably be to your liking

I run at 1280x1024 @32 bit
everything on High and it runs ABSOULTLY SMOOTH!!!!
WOW the game is asome and people the game uses a Unreal Tournament Engine but they have modified it
and do this when you start up the game and the Lion head intro comes

it uses an ut engine? how odd for a rts to use a 3dshooter engine...

I don't have the time to procrastinate.

Have you played it online yet? The game was really designed for online- not for single player.

I’ve been out the warez loop for some time and didn’t feel like spending hours looking for it when I might not even like. If I play a demo and really like a game I don’t mind buying it.

no link, sorry. I've just played a beta that a friend had and then I bought the game when I liked it. I have no idea how he got the beta. The game worked perfect though...

I agree Chas, boring after a while though technically a fantastic game. Now uninstalled but if I ever play it again I´ll also beat the [-peep-] out of the villagers

I had the same exact Creative Banshee(about 2 years ago). I fried it playing Halflife/Team Fortress. I wouldn't be surprised if your card is on it's way out. Those cards run really hot, and don't have enough heatsinking. Mine started screwing up textures, then finally stopped working in 3D.

I recently got B&W. That game is extremly adictive. Taking a while to get used to controlls and gameplay but the game is cool if you have the patience.

Ugh.

B&W is like a gorgeous toy that is absolutely no fun to play with.

I was amazed by it when it came out...in all fairness, the engine is gorgeous and the AI rather good.

Only problem? At its core it's a rather dull and uninspired RTS. With a "virtual pet" thrown in. Yawn.

I pre-ordered the game like 2 months in advance and was extremely excited to get it. I haven't touched the CD in like two months now. What a waste.

I found black & white quite annoying in that Its impossible to ever get your people happy. I once built a city using up every square of the map, they had TONS of food, and they were still whining about expansion. talk about never being able to reach equilibrium.

Anyways, I run it on a diamond VOODOO banshee. It works alright. But im in win2k, so i doubt im using 3d (probably because my 3d doesnt work in win2k hehe) . cuz DIAMOND SUCKS. oh whoops can i say taht? my bad, seriously though they need to release drivers for their video cards...

It is great eye candy, but it's such a long term project and quite slow at times. I'd rate it as a very good concept - but it gets a bit stale after a while.

You <b>can</b> sacrifice the villagers courpses and it wount affect you evil/good rating. If you watch your villages closely you can rack up quite a bit of prayer power just from the courpses.

I didn't know what all the fuss was about. I've just seen it on my friend's pc and I can say it has lots of eye candy. I so much want it now. But I never finished a game in my life (maybe only two or three).

Sh!t Happens.

I just bought it yesterday!!! The game look unbelievable!!! The stories the people tell and all the songs must have taken months just to get on paper. I just solved to boat quest and I could see it getting annoying to listen to em sing every time but it’s pretty amazing the work that went into all the little touches like that song.

We will definitely see a lot of clones based on this game in the future.


Now my question, <font color=blue>What is the coolest/most useful thing u have trained your pet to do?</font color=blue>

I’m just starting so any pointers would be appreciated.

Sorry man, don't have it yet (definetly on my wish list). I am sure the internet is filled with FAQ's. Just make sure you don't read something you are supposed to know later in the game (would ruin the fun).
