Hi,

I've been looking at these two UPS systems:

Home Series UPS Battery Backup - 650VA (390W) "10-15 minutes of backup time"
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProd...owerProtection/UPS/UPS-Desktop.../HomeSeries/

800VA Universal UPS w/AVR (450 Watt...otection/UPS/UPSDesktopUsage/UniversalSeries/

I'm trying to decide which I should purchase.

The 800Va one has AVR (automatic voltage regulation), which obviously is a good thing... But how important is this really?

My next major issue is if it can handle a reasonable load. My computer is a year or two old now. But I do plan on upgrading it, and would like the UPS to be able to cope with a decent system (Dual Core, Top of the line video card, etc). I have a 22" CRT (Mitsubishi 2070SB - 120 Watt). I obviously want to keep the UPS for as long as possible and not have to replace it because it no longer meets my needs.

I'm not to worried about the amount of time, so long as it provides say at least 7.5 minutes. I mean the point is to save ones work and shut down. I don't have power outages to often. The purpose of the UPS is to safeguard hardware and data, not to continue working when the power goes out.

So yeah, basically is the 650VA going to handle just about any PC? And the main limitations is the battery backup time, and the AVR?

I can't find any reviews of the 650VA model... but could find this for the 800VA one.

How much Wattage and VA does a high end PC need? I found this which suggests VERY little.
