I have this issue with the motherboard detecting my Athlon XP 3200+ processor, or Corsair XMS DDR 3200LL. It only posts with XMS 2700 and detects processor at 2500+. When I put in one stick of the 3200, it starts to post but hangs at the graphics card bios display (GeForce 6800gt). On the PCChips site, I have the newest BIOS and it supports the 3200+ and DDR 400. What else can it be?

Let me repeat this so I'm sure I understand you.

System: PC Chips Tidalwave, Athlon XP3200+, Corsair XMS DDR3200LL.

Bios detects system as an XP2500+? What do you mean 'it only posts with XMS2700'? Do you have some PC2700 RAM that you installed?

Are you sure the FSB is set to 200/400 in BIOS? The XP3200+ can be mis-detected as the 2500+ if the FSB is set to 166/333. And the RAM will probably show up as PC2700 as well in that case.

Like the fishman said, the board is set to 166MHz bus (AMD calls it a 333 bus due to their CPU bus using DDR just like the RAM does). You need to set it to 200MHz, read your manual.

All this is outlined in the first post of this forum, had you read that you wouldn't have had to ask.
